Musical Concert by World Renowned Indian Music Singer and Composer C Ashwath and Troupe
A unique once in a life time opportunity was provided to all the Music loving people of India who were treated to a night of melodious music and magic by the legendary world renowned South Indian [Language of the state of Karnataka - and Bangalore - known as the Silicon valley of Asia]
Music Singer and Composer C Ashwath and his Troupe of artists at the Ian and Nancy Turbott Auditorium in the University of Western Sydney - Parramatta Campus on Saturday 14th March 2009.
The evening's program was a presentation by the Indian Australian Arts and Film Association Inc [http://www.iaafa.com.au/] Present for the occasion were Honorable Nathan Rees MP - Premier and Minister of Arts NSW, Mr C Ashwath - Music Singer and Composer, Mr. David Borger MP - Minister of Housing and Western Sydney - NSW, Ms. Julie Owens Federal MP - Parramatta representing Mr. Laurie Ferguson MP - Parliamentary Secretary for Multicultural Affairs and Settlement Services, Mr. Trevor Oldfield - Chairman -KidsWest Charity , Mr. Raj Natarajan - President United Indian Association Inc. Mr. Balaji Venkatarangan-President IAAFA, Mr Jay Hosur Secretary IAAFA , Mr. Mohan Mysore Assistant Secretary IAAFA. This stood a testimony to the fact that the government of NSW took the ethnic art and community seriously and stood by them in their endeavors.
C Ashwath was honored and presented with a momentum by the Honorable Nathan Rees MP - Premier and Minister of Arts NSW


The Programme was officially inaugurated by the Honorable Nathan Rees MP - Premier and Minister of Arts NSW with the traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony as a embodiment and testimony of denoting the role of music in the enlightenment of the body and spirit.

IAAFA has been formed to promote and Trans-communicate art and culture between Australia and India. It stands on the firm realization that both these countries have a deep rooted tradition and it is necessary for us to enhance it. While one of the objectives of IAAFA is to bring art and artists from India, it also endeavors to spread Australian history and heritage in the Indian subcontinent. These ambitions are summarized in our visionary statement - To keep the spirit of India and Australia alive together. Another feature of the association is to encourage Children in the community to learn and appreciate Indian and Australian Music, Art and Cinema in line with their motto "Today's Kids Tomorrows Stars"
In accordance with their motto to encourage children, a Music competition was organized for children between the age groups of 8 years to 13 years. Two winners of this competition were provided with an opportunity to perform on stage during the musical concert by C Ashwath and Troupe. They were also awarded with a Certificate of Appreciation and a Medal by the Honorable Premier of NSW Mr.Nathan Rees and Mr. C Ashwath.

This concert was a first in many respects, in that this was the first time that an entire music troupe performed live and enthralled and spellbound the audience for over 3 hours. C Ashwath along with his co-singers K.K. Murthy and Mangala kept the audience thirsting for more and sang all his famous songs including the compositions which have won him won numerous awards including the prestigious "Filmfare awards" which is the Indian version of the Oscars. Accompanying the singers with the various instruments were Jagadish (tabla), Krishna Udupa (Keyboard), Srinivas Iyengar
